Who am I?

Hi!!! My name is Serena and this is my blog! A little about me! I’m located in socal, I love my friends and my music, I have one super cute cat, my favorite show right now is gossip girl, I want to watch the OC and this is my blog called Dear West Coast!

I started this blog because I wanted a community where I can talk about gossip, whats been going with my life, pop culture, tip and tricks, opinions, advice, and anything else! Plus wouldn't it be so cool to have a double life?

HEY ANGELS! GUESS WHOS BACK!

Hi!!!! I missed you all so much I will be posting wayy more often and weekly! I have much to catch you up on and to talk about! Happy Fall!!! Its still so hot in cali, like 100 degrees omg. I might go to the beach later today, my computer is so hot typing this lol. Anywho, heres a list of things to do in fall!

- Go to your cities haunted house or fair with your friends

-Go Fall Shopping and buy candles!!! ( My fav)

-Decorate your room for fall

- Go to your schools football game! ( Trust me its so fun!)

-Get a cute new backpack ( or a jansport and you can paint it!)

-Plan your halloween costume ( I'm being an angel or unicorn)

-Carve pumpkins!

-Go to a concert

-Go to Starbucks with friends and study

-Make fall drinks

- Read a book

-Go to a pumpkin patch!

-Make playlists for any event in your life (ex: for when its raining, halloween party, studying)

-Go to B&N w/ friends

- Go to or host a halloween party

-Hangout with friends and bake

-Do crafts

- Paint pumpkins

-Draw!! Its so fun and I'm horrible at drawing

-Sell cookies

-Journal/manifest

-Have a fall photoshoot! I did this i got insanely cute 2000's pics ( try to take on digicams!)

How to make friends at school!

Listen I used to be SO scared of talking to people because I was insecure and thought everyone automatically hated me, but that's not the case. Now I'm a huge extrovert and it was so easy!

🧡 TIP 1: You have to talk to people with a mindset as if they already like you.

🩷 TIP 2: Another HUGEEE tip that I would tell anyone it to complement people!!! It helps sooo much.

🧡TIP 3: After you complement them ask open ended questions!!! One thing that stuck with me is that people LOVE talking about themselves. So ask people about themselves, add a comment of your own, and keep the conversation going. Let me give you a example. So you see this girl and looks super cool, maybe her outfit is cute. So YOU yes you are going to say " Hey your top is so cute!" and if they say something like " Omg thank you so much!" You could respond with "Where did you get it I've been looking for some more clothes" and she would say " Oh holister! It was on sale" and you could again respond "Omg I love holister they have the cutest stuff" and now you lead the conversation from there. So the formula is compliment, they talk, comment of your own, a question, their response, comment, and continue the conversation.

🩷 TIP 4: Its also important to not ask SO many questions that its like an interview. Make sure you also talk about yourself - use this time to show them your personality!

🧡 TIP 5: Practice this! It took me a bit of time to get over my fear, you only live once and time passes anyways. In a couple weeks you could still be scared to talk to people, or you could finally be friends with that girl! I compliment anyone and everyone now ( and this works with guys, complement their shirt and TRUST ME a lot of boys don't get compliments from other girls and omg it makes them SO happy its cute and you don't have to have a crush on them to do this!)

🩷 TIP 6: Its okay if some people aren't really interested in the conversation. Its almost never personal, maybe they had a bad day, just broke up with someone, or are just tired! There will always be other people! There is a big difference between rude and just not feeling good that day.

🧡TIP 7: BE KIND i cannot stress this enough. Just be sweet and help people out! Don't be a bitch! ( unless they're one first) but I know you won't! 😘

VICTORIA SECRET BODY SPRAYS + LIPGLOSS

My opinion on them!!!

I swear up and down for the lipglosses they are cute, taste good, I always ask for these on my birthday. They are my absolute favorite and pretty unpopular, so I'm trusting you with this. I will get so mad if the strawberry flavor gets sold out. 🙏 On the other hand... I think the VS sprays smell good and look gorg but I don't think the vanilla last for long. Also when you spray it, a lot of alcohol comes out instead of the scent and it over powers it. I do love it but wish I just invested in a GOOD vanilla perfume. It maybe be just the vanilla scent or I bought a defective one because the other scent I have is pretty good. Its so cute on my dresser though 😔

HOW TO SMELL GOOD ALL THE TIME!

Tips and Tricks!

1. Use a GOOD deodorant ( I've heard native DOES NOT work) and bring it with you places

2. Have a mini perfume with you! Bath and body works sells tiny body sprays.

3. Take frequent showers 💕 lol okay this reminded me of something story time: So I was talking to this guy and he told me he showers every couple days 😬 I was so flabbergasted because he does multiple sports daily. Like not even hair wash no he doesn't shower his body.😭 I stopped talking to him after that. Guys don't be like him.

4. If you don't have vanilla perfume dab a little vanilla extract on your wrist and neck it smells amazing.

5. If you are on your period wash it with water every time you change your pad ( trust me) and DO NOT use scented things down there it is horrible for your kitty

6. If you wash your bras more often. I might be a clean freak but after the first/ second time I like to wash them.

7. USE DUSTING POWDER - dude I started to use dusting powder and I smell SO good I've gotten so many compliments. You guys gotta look into this!

HOW TO LOOKS CUTE!!!! GLOW UP TIPS

HAIR!!!!!!!

Every week I'll give you guys my tips that helped me SO much to better myself and my looks. My first tip is take care of your hair! Make sure to care for it and style it nicely! Whether its natural, heatless curls, updos, braids, make sure to take time on your hair! Another huge thing is make sure its healthy! I like using a hair mask at least once a week and actually keeping my conditioner in for 5 minutes. Plus using hair oil, heat protectant, and leave in conditioner. ( Everyones hair is different, I have wavy and slightly curly hair so find hair oils, heat protectants, leave in conditioners, hair masks for YOUR hair type!) Some styles you can do to your hair areeeeee...

- Heatless curls ( the rods or sock curls work rlly well for me)

-Velcro Rollers

-Blow outs

-Natural ( it looks so good trust omgg you will get a lot of compliments if you define your hair)

-Straightening ( don't forget heat protectant!!! Ur hair wont look good unhealthy)

- Cute Updos/ Buns ( look up tutorials on tt)

Hey Angels! Guess who's back! Ok omgg as most of you might know, I recently transferred schools in my city, and woahh its been a lot. Ill tell you all more next week!

So there is this girl, lets call her Mia.

Mia and this guy I've known since elementary named Collin used to date. Mia is known as a pick me at our school . And at first, I gave her the benefit of the doubt.

I said hi and tried to make conversation, but Mia just gave me this weird impression.

I brushed it off and kept on talking to my guy friends and didn't think much of it.

My other guy friend and I were talking about this event we went to and I laughed while he was talking,

and Mia said " Broo why are you telling her OUR story?"

And Collin was like " Mia you weren't even there? Serena was there with us?"

and I kid you not, Mia then fucking says " You guys are hanging out with her?"

Like bitch I'm right here I can hear your ass? This is kinda crazy to me I've never encountered someone like this. 😭

Now, I do kinda like one of the guys (Jake) , and we are in a talking stage and Mia is so pissed 😭? Girl whatever they don't like you? So now we are on the cheer team together, and she almost drops our flyer. I tell her " Can you make sure she stays up?" because dropping your flyer is no joke like insanely dangerous and she starts to cry. I feel bad but then she goes talk shit abt me? I tell her I'm sorry for snapping and she just gives me a look and storms off. Everyone tells me to ignore her so idek shes acc getting on my nerves. I am still trying to like her and get along its just idk i dont like the way she carries herself. Im still trying tho.

Oh nope doesn't stop there! She goes to the guy I like (Jake) and the guy friends of mine and tells them how I yelled at her and cursed her out. They are kinda surprised cuz I'm NOT the type of person to yell or be mean. So they ask me like "Did you do that to Mia?" and ofc i tell them "no!" Like wtf why are you going to my friends and talking shit? Who tf do you think they are gonna side with? Omg stay in ur lane. Collin had been telling me how Mia is ALSO flirting with the guy I like ( Jake) and brushing it off as "them being friends" but Jake told me he's hella uncomfortable with it. Who do you think you are? Lol its chill tho bc she's not the one talking to Jake.

(Jake, Collin, and my guy friends are all in a friend group, and Mia thinks she's close with all of them) These aren't their real names but yk Jake from Royal High 😭

I really tried to like Mia but you cannot expect me to give you all these chances. I'll still be sweet to her and stuff but yeah.

Anyways I'll update you all, and give you way more interesting gossip when I get back this is just a petty thing 😭 but I am curious to see how this will play out. Stick around!

Guys 🫣 I swear Manifestation works I genuinely have my dream life thank you all so so much for your support I feel like I'm straight out of a 2000's slideshow with all this stuff happening. Let me get on with it!

So we were at Jakes house for a party, and I stepped outside in his pool/backyard and I'm out there for a few minutes its like cold so I'm debating going inside and I'm just thinking and I look behind me and see Jake coming outside! So I turn around and pretend I didn't see him and lowkey put on that VS lipgloss 😭 So he walks toward me where I'm sitting like kinda on this wall/bench yeah. And I'm like "Hey! Whats up?" and he kinda looks down and I think he blushed and is like " Oh I thought you looked cold do you want me jacket?" Let me tell you my heart dropped to my ass omg I was so nervous. and I laugh kinda nervously and say " Aw thank you ur so sweet" 😭 No way I SAID THAT! " Do you wanna sit here with me?" So he sits and we are talking and laughing and omg guys I was blushing like crazy. I have this stupid habit that when I like someone I will laugh at everything they say or do its so embarrassing.

So later, the party is ending ( forgot to mention this is a small party, only with my girlfriends and the guys group, we are a mixed friend group but sit a separate tables in school) and we are all walking out. I say "bye guys love you!" and Jake says "bye Serena!" to me and I say "Oh you too Jake" like smirking and he grabs my WRIST and pulls me back and kisses ME on the cheek. Oh. My. Gosh. So I fucking laugh again 😭 and then everyone sees and goes "ooooh" and omfg my face was red. So like dumbass I kiss him and say "night!" and run off. I'm so embarrassed i don't even wanna show my face Monday. Lol it actually gets worse apparently ALL MY FRIENDS knew abt it and theres a pic of it. 😭 Omg wish me luck please let it me my turn.

Olivia's New Album Opinions?

I absolutely am a pop girl, I do lean way more to indie pop but I still do love Olivia Rodrigo! I heard her album the day it released with all my friends it was sooo good. My favs are expectations, my way, the cure, drop dead, u+me + <3, maggots for brain, purple for sure. Its is bad that I kinda hate the slow songs except cigarette smoke, like honeybee was not it for me. I don't know, I loved her slow songs in sour and guts but maybe I just need time to warm up to YSPS. I hope I can get tickets to her tour!

I DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT use AI. It completely takes away the point of why I started this blog at all. It would take away all the fun and its also horrible for the environment. I see a lot of bloggers using AI and it takes away from the fun girlhood aspect of it. I am pro environment and will never be using AI in my blog.
